Me on Port Hills
at the Pioneer Women's Monument - for all the women who climbed up the hill from Lyttelton, over the Port Hills and into Christchurch, babies and all the kitchen stuff under arm... Or something like that ;-)My Mum arrived in Christchurch - I met her off the tranz-coastal train from Picton. It was great to see her. It had been her birthday a few days earlier (she had been in the North Island for nearly a week) so I had arranged to take her on the Christchurch tram meal experience. It is a five course meal on a 100 year old tram, driving slowly through Christchurch at night. Unfortunately Mum’s train arrived late and it seemed we wouldn’t make it back to the city centre in time to catch the evening meal tram.
When we finally got back to the city centre I gave Le Bon Bolli a call and booked us a table, 5 minutes later the tram people called my mobile and said they were still waiting for us! So we rushed to Cathedral Square and jumped abroad. It was a really nice meal (with free drink) and was good to show Mum Christchurch and catch up.

Showing off new eye brow piercing and related bruising... top of a hill, demonstrating Mum’s need to give up smoking! We also had a quick look round Sumner and New Brighton beaches before heading north to Hanmer Springs.
We got in to the hot water pools as it got dark. It was really nice, sat in 35-42 degree pools under a full moon. Unfortunately, because of my recent tattoo I couldn’t submerge my shoulders! :-(
