We were up very early today to catch our 08.50 flight to New Zealand, Paul and Gloria generously offered to drive us to the airport for 06.50am! We said our good byes, big hugs and kisses all round and promising to stay in touch.
The flight was fine, landing in Christchurch after lunch time. We hadn't seen any of the country as we flew over as the cloud cover was so thick, only just seeing the runway as we landed. As we left the terminal it was cold (about 18 degrees) and raining, reminding us of home in the UK. Its the first time we have had to wrap us since leaving the UK! its very alien- plus the fact its meant to be summer here right now!
We took a bus into the city- well I say city, for a major city in NZ its very small, only 300,000 plus people live here, no bigger then Reading in the UK! We walked to our hostel, then collapsed, really ready for a sleep!
We had a quick nap, waking up in time for dinner! so grabbed a pizza then had an early night- actually having 11 hours sleep!

Cold? - yeah right!
Hey folks, Australia sounded fantastic and I'm so pleased you got to see so much of Paul and family, and Charlotte and Dyce (I read your last blog from Australia with a lump in my throat). Great to hear you've arrived in NZ ok. If only it was 18degrees here in blighty at the moment, although having said that it's not all that cold for winter, just stupidly windy. If you're anywhere near Murray's Bay when in Auckland at any point, make sure you wave to my godmother as you go past!
