The Hiroshima Peace memorial
Disclaimer this is the start of a series of entries that will take retroactive action in returning you to a period of time called 2006. Please enjoy:

Hello everyone!
Here is a photo diary of 24 hours spent in Hiroshima. The sight of the 1st Nuclear bomb attack in history. My favorite photo in this collection is with me and friends on opposite sides of the peace memorial sign outside the A-Bomb museum. Pictures speak a thousand words, don't they? The feeling in the museum was pretty heavy, with some video and images that were difficult to endure. A conversation with me can clear up any grey areas about that sentence you may have.

After the museum, there was still a bit of daylight left, and guess what, snow flurries fell from the sky! My first snow in Japan! Timing is everything. Check out the white specs around Chiyori with the remnants of a bombed out building still standing in the background (there is only one left standing). After a few hours in a traditional style Izakaya restaurant, three slightly intoxicated people checked into the Hotel Regalo for the night. Day one - complete.

This is a replica of the real deal. Utter destruction in an instant.
- "Shige" and Chiyori - "Chi" are the wonderful human beings that I met in Australia three years ago. Back then it was all sunshine and surf sessions as revelers in a foreign land. This time around they are my hosts in their native environment. A "gaijin" or foreigner I may be once again, they treat me as welcomed as anyone in life ever has. Many thanks to them, as they are the key to my success, good fortune, and wonderful feeling over the last week and beyond.
