Send it down Huey!...who's huey??
This is some of Micks handy work...it took him hours to build these! Well, it has happened, it may be a little late for a white xmas, but we were walking back from the pub last night, and after pointing at the sky wondering what those white blobs were that were falling, we realised it was snowing!
Anyway, lets start at the beginning.
We jumped on a bus at Prague and headed for Cesky Kromlov, 3 hrs down south. Thankfully we had prebooked a seat on the bus (not something you normally have to do) as the bus driver decided he'd make a few extra bucks by letting 20 or so others stand up in the aisle (for 3 hrs....were they mad???) this also meant there was far too much luggage for the bus, so it was also piled in the aisles...what was he thinking. Anyway, we froze our arses off all the way to Cesky as the windows wouldnt close on the bus...brrrr, there was ice on the lakes and we had the damn windows open!!
Finally arrived at Cesky and after getting directions to the hostel from someone who didnt speak english we took his hand signals literally and decided that down the hill meant, throw your suitcase down the side of
Cesky Castle
Its built into the cliff face...cool huh! a cliff then crawl down after it. In James Bond Style we then found a very unused track and a bridge not built for human use and made it across to the hostel in no time at all....brilliant short-cut!!
Cesky Kromlov, is absolutely awesome. Prague is over-rated, but this place takes the cake. Its medieval feel and cobblestone streets (with way fewer annoying tourists like us) make for a brilliant little town.
AND......to top off the winter, last night it snowed. It came down heavy for a good 2 hours and by morning everything was white. It was strangely warmer once it snowed too, either that or the fact that we were jumping around like morons celebrating a snow shower could have warmed us up a little.
We're off on the bus to Salzburg (Austria) tomorrow (praying those bus windows close) for a couple of days, so we should have some more pics for you after that.
Until then, enjoy our snowy pictures!!
