Hey kiddiewinkles,
Christmas Eve aujourd'hui, and boy what a day! I'm at Marlena's at the mo, whose family is just simply lovely and so welcoming. We're waiting to go to church, which will be at midnight. There are so many Polish customs around Xmas time! And they're all good ones! 😊 Like going to church at midnight, and having to try at least 12 different dishes on Xmas Eve dinner (hey I'm not complaining!) for each of the following 12 months. And everyone has a bit of wafer and you have to go around breaking bits of people's wafers and wishing them nice things 😊 and then eating it.

I did all that at Natalia's. In the morning we deco'd the xmas tree and set the table and made lots of interesting food. And the food was Awesome. It's another custom to eat only fish and veggie things on Xmas eve so I had carp, herring, salmon and allsorts, in all forms. And then one of Natalia's cousin's had brought home made choccie cake, and OH BOY it was good!!! The tub mysteriously remained near me most of the time, so it's really not my fault I had to eat most of it. I mean, it's rude to lean all over the table and try to eat things far away from you.
N's dad dressed as Santa and N was his helper who gave out all the pressies. Unfortunately, Marlena's shoes are too big for her, but they fit Natalia, whose own shoes are too big for her. So gotta shoot back and send them the right sizes!

I'm having regular Polish lessons too, so now my vocab has increased to 4 phrases. Who kicks ass at Polish! Hahahaaa I'm teaching M+N ned-speak, like 'shut it ya rocket before i launch ye' and it is hilarious in a polish accent, esp N's bro.

Natalia has a really cute wee granny heehee and she gave me hugs all night, well everyone is really huggy and loving here! But she's really nice.

It's Michal's b'day (N's bro) on the 26th so there's gona be a bigger family event than was today. Looking fwd to it!

Am planning to head to Krakow on the 27th or 28th, but apparently it's a really really popular destination for the New Yearsy time. So I'm heading off travelblog and away to look for train tickets and a hostel. No word from the stupid train ticket that didn't turn up but I ain't minted and I could do with the stupid 30GBP!!

Chirry xxxxx

Note to self: some more polish things: animals are believed to talk on xmas eve, in human language. waiting for the first star before starting dinner.
