So it's very close to Christmas and instead of the days being too long they are flying past.
It has now progressed to a point that I wake every morning with a start thinking "Oh god, I am going to be waking up in England soon".
Needless to say I have a curious cocktail of nerves, excitement and fear constantly surging through my system. As a result of this I fear I might burst a blood vessel in my eye if I'm not careful.

After a request from Dad that appealed to my ego, I have decided to set up this blog of my travels over the next six months so those that wish to can keep track of what I am up to. I leave on the 10th of January, now only 18 days away, at 10pm from Sydney to fly to Heathrow via Bahrain. I will be attending the University of East Anglia in Norwich on an exchange for six months (or perhaps less) studying history. The subjects I have had approved at this stage are:
- Kingship in Early Medieval Britain and Europe,
- War and Society II: From Napoleon to Hiroshima, and
- Madness and Medicine.

Norwich appears to be a beautiful sunny city where it never rains. Apparently it has the lowest rainfall and the most sunshine in the UK, but I have studied enough history to be aware of propaganda and I'm sensing a fair degree of fabrication in that statement. However I have not planned to fly half way around the world to complain about the weather and therefore will now only say positive things about Norwich.

If you would like to see what Norwich and Norfolk actually look like then here is the link to the Official Tourism website to peruse at your leisure.

If anyone is interesting in having a squiz at what my room will look like, then here is a link to the accomodation page, I'll be staying in "Village Ensuite". Dad was concerened that the laundry in the room may be a bit of an inconvenience, but it's ok, I rang the uni to sort it out and the room doesn't have all the washing machines in it. He has a good sense of humour my Dad.

So there is my first blog, hopefully I have many more exciting blogs to follow ("hooraa" I hear you cry!)
Hope everybody has a safe, happy and peaceful Christmas and New Year.
Love em
