Walking through the alleys of the old city
Well over the last couple days of our trip has been stressful for me trying to decided what clothes I wanted made! In Hoi An there are thousands of tailor shops that make everythnig from suits, jackets, shoes, purses, anything you could think of! The take your measurements right then and then make whatever you would like within a couple of hours. The quality is unbelievable also! I got a pair of pants, a nice jacket and a dressy shirt for going out in. Now im just wondering if i should carry it around the whole trip or send it home!

Well Hoi An itself was a pretty cool city. It was probably one of the quietest we have been in yet. It was a french colonial town that was filled with lots of culture and charm. A town that shows the true Vietnamese way of life. Just walking through the streets was a great form of entertainment seeing everything that is going on around you. There were many different handicraft shops that were making things like lanterns, woodwork and marble work.

Hoi An also has probably the best food we have tried on the whole trip. They had

quite a few specialties made by one family that were distributed out to a few restaurants and were very delicious. We even took another cooking course in Hoi An so we now know how to make a few dishes from each country we have been to..cant wait to make our families and friends a great dinner!

We have been patiently awaiting the next typhoon that will be hitting Vietnam very soon. The last one about a week ago flooded all the streets of Hoi An and people were moving around the streets by boat. The weather definatly has not been the greatest throughout our time in Vietnam but it is a nice change from the hot sun.

Well travelling through Vietnam has definatly been straight forward and very cheap! We bought a bus ticket for $22 in Saigon and it can take us the 1800 kms to Hanoi. We can just hop on and off the bus whenever we want. Unfortunatly the only bad thing is they stop at so many restaurants and hotels of their choice to get commision to make their money back..oh well it saved us alot of money in transport costs. The transport is actually very comfortable too! Anyways not too much of importance to write about...talk soon!
