Brisbane was again a lot like Surfers paradise, loads of high rise buildings, a modern city which was great for shopping and just walking around people watching. Stayed in a really top hostel here called TinBilly which had a cool bar and spent the evening in playing pool and drinking $8 pitchers of beer. Knew I couldn't get too hammered as I was at THE zoo the next day so kinda took it easy. Fell in love with a bar maid from Kensington, her dad was a captain for BA. Not sure if it was the free first class flights or her but either way she was pretty hot.

Next day, up at the crack of dawn to go somewhere that I had been looking forward to since I knew I was going to Australia, the Australia Zoo. Was sad that Steve Irwin died a few weeks before I left the UK but it still didn't take anything away from the place, amazing zoo! Saw all the usual things, tigers fighting each other, elephants having a bath and water fight, snakes (I hate em!!) They had one called Lily, she was 24ft long Python, thicker than a basketball in the middle. I was well brave knocking behind the the 2cm of glass, tough guy hey!! The crocs were the real show stoppers, they have a 6,000 person Crocosium and the show was great. Had the opportunity to hold baby crocs and snakes but I pussied it everythime, couldn't even bring myself to touch them either. Amazing zoo in all, even stopped at a local farm on the way back and ate a whole pineapple straight from the field. Can you get that in Bromley?

Travelled to Noosa on the 3rd day, 3 hours north. Fraser Island in a few days, then Whitsundays Sailing!!
