Cool KyraCool KyraCool Kyra

Kyra looking the part of seasoned world traveller.
Kyra and I drove into Brisbane where we met Kristina Jack and Grant at the airport. We lucked out and found a bed and breakfast near Brisbane and the next morning we drove back down to Kirra/Coolongatta. We got an awesome deal on a two bedroom place here on the 13th floor overlooking the beach. Yesterday we played in the surf and I bought a Boogie Board to ride the waves with. After lunch we went for a drive up into the volcanic caldera region surrounding Coolongatta and much of the coast. It was a pretty drive. Today we engaged in more surf play...I'm getting the hang of it and starting to get more successful rides. Tomorrow we will all head back upwards towards Brisbane where I will probably spend a couple more days before I embark on my epic journey to Cairns...another 1800 km. I'm just dumping my photo's to my iPod so perhaps I can figure out how to attach a photo to this entry when I'm done.
Word from back home has it snowing on the lower mainland...Yikes!
I've gone into the water a few times with my mask on and found there are a lot of fish

Just over an hour ago.
swimming around the ankles of us swimmers and boarders. I saw a large school of silver 8 inch long fish 9about 200) then a bright blue jellyfish about 7 inches across and a school if tiny 2-3 inch fish (at least 3000 of them) Swimming with them was very cool. I drifted along with them for 10 minutes or so. There are also Blue bottles on this beach so we have to be careful not to get stung which is difficult to do in pounding surf that never lets you see the water clearly. Kyra has a permanent white bathing suit on under her bathing suit...very good tan.
The first Ashes test ended with Australia humiliating England in Brisbane...they start the second of 5 tests in Perth on friday. I'm voting for Austalia, G's pulling for England...shame! Not so good start for the Barmy Army.
