What was the last thing to enter the bugs brain as it hit the windshield?

Unaware of what's ahead of them, two perhaps foolishly optimistic actors (Zachary and Megan) head out onto road
It's legs

Another brief entry before I crash.

Currently I am in South Dakota, and this has been my first opportunity to update for a few days. We finally got off the 90 E, and onto 29 S. We've traveled a total of around 1000 miles. Only 900 more to go. =)

Driving through Montana and Wyoming was so beautiful.

Once we got past the badlands of South Dakota it was just the plains- which I’ve decided are called that with good reason.

I wish I could tell you about all the interesting things we did and visited along the road. But as we didn’t really do or visit anything interesting it’d probably be more informative to tell you of all the things we didn’t see 😉 Mount Rushmore (hopefully on the trip back at the end of the summer), The Corn Palace (A palace covered in corn, with puns a plenty), Wonderland Caves (“millions of years old”) Southern Empire (there’s a scary thought).

We did stop off at Wall Drugs. A old drug store that was the first to offer free ice cold water to travelers. Supposedly there are signs all over the country

A bit Scary...
pointing to this site. It’s a drug store that takes up over a block of space and 1/3 of Wall’s employment. Pretty incredible.

50 miles out of Sioux Falls it started raining bugs. Sounded like pitter patter of rain, but no, just clouds of bugs splattering all over our windshield. Better bugs than frogs I guess. Our truck is filthy. Wipers only smear the bug juices all over the window making it harder to see through.

We're staying at the AmericInn. Paid a lot bit too much for our hotel- for the second night in a row. I got the manager down from $68 to $65... I really need to work on my bartering skills. Though tonight it seems almost worth it. The pool and hot tub were heaven. I’ve never experienced anything so nice. And a real breakfast tomorrow- as opposed to our continental breakfast of 2 donut holes and bread, this morning at the more expensive super 8- of which I won’t even embarrass myself by stating how much we paid.

Tomorrow we take 29 S down the border of Iowa and through Missouri and Illinois. Hopefully we make some good time.

Hmm… maybe

not so brief… I promise these will get more interesting once I have more time.

Cheers!

hey there....
You were thinking of me as you drove down 90 E, huh? I´m flattered, and touched, but am also hoping that it was because you remembered me and not because your friend is desperately boring and you´re searching for things to entertain your mind... at least I´m entertaining in that senario... Anyways, I remember thinking, when I first read your message, that I also was suddenly thinking of you at some strange moment, and forget now what that moment was. It was either a sunset, at which times I am quite prone to fanciful reminices, or it was at a moment I was really wanting someone to just talk too. You could always fill that capacity most excellently. I then realized, with some surprise for I do not frequently feel this way, that I missed you. In any case, Spain is interesting. Every day is an adventure, and that can be quite tiring and anxiety producing. Last night, for example, my mother and my uncle teamed up to corner me in the hall and forced me to try and dance Sevillanas, which were easy enough except I had just learned the basic step two minutes before and needed time to practice. I´m not exactly the quickest learner when it comes to body movement coordination. But other than that, I try to sun bathe, and try to work out... realizing I pitifully skinny. We went to the gay part of Madrid the other day and I only got noticed by the 30 and over crowd. That might be because I haven´t cut my hair in two months (i´ve decided to grow it out and see what happens... maybe this isn´t the ideal time for that)... or that I´m disgustingly ugly... or that we didn´t go to the right clubs... in any case, I´m hoping some color and some girth might improve the batting average of my next trip to la Chueca. And so that´s pretty much how I pass my time here, jumping from one experience to another without much time afterwards to process until a few days later when it all happens subconciously. I have about another three to four weeks of this and then I go home. It seems so anti-climactic. Now, how´s the trip, I mean, besides the description of what your doing. Are you enjoying yourself? How´re things with the partner in crime? Have you taught anyone yet? Do you get reimbursed for your hotel stays? Have you felt the grim touch of the homophobic reaper? Did you think of Matthew Sheppard when you looked at the Wyomming landscape (cause I sure fucking did and it gave me chills)? How´s life? --Your friend (you should know who... and if you don´t... well... next time I´ll just have to be more obvious) - wouldn´t you like to know

What is.
Who is this Megan and why is she doing MY THUMBSUMPSKIES with you? Just kidding. She looks darling. P.S. Didn't even know you had a travel blog and now I have a lot of reading to do. Miss you!
