I figure I'd do a smaller post today and let everyone know what I got up to last night. During the day I just hung out with the Thai's who work at the guesthouse, and during the evening I checked out the weekend night market with a guy from leeds. The night market was alright, and on our way out I saw a guy I had met a week earlier. Guy is from the States, but has been living here with his Thai girlfriend selling baby clothes. A very funny dude. After chatting with him for a bit, the two of them, the guy from leeds, and the american had to take off to do something for a few minutes. I was left at these stalls in the night market. The lady in the stall over jokingly asked me if I could help her sell the stuff in her discount bin. I took a seat with my beer chang in hand and started selling off her clothes. Haha, I used many techniques, but I think covering the bin with a sheet and telling passerby'rs that I'd lift the sheet to the mystery bin if they'd stop a moment, worked quite well. However, I believe my intial sale was made by claiming to two thai women (while holding this pink shirt up against myself) "I promise it will look better on you." What a laugh. So the guy from Leeds came back and we took off the the larger, more famous night market that is open every night. He wanted to burn some music onto his ipod and was told it was gonna take two hours. I wasn't so interested in waiting around so I went for a stroll. A few hundred meters down the road I saw a young thai guy sitting at an empty stall. Beside him was a stool chained to a fence. I made him an offer of 300 baht, but he said 200, so I said 150, he said 100, 50, 30, and then it was settled, if I could yank the chained chair from the fence I could have it for 20 baht. The two of us ended up drinking beer chang for most of the evening, and once again I became a sales person. He had a stall with samurai swords, binoculars, and the meanest tazers I've ever seen. To think that full intensity tazers are being sold by the truckload in these markets is a wee bit scary. The girl in the next stall over was selling a bunch of western style clothes, billabong, diesal, etc. and I made my second sale of the night to an american guy. haha, I'd just stand by the stall looking very intested and ask people what they thought of the pants (once I'd try them on). Worked like a charm. Haha, the thai guy ended up getting so drunk, offering to buy my kabob's and in the end paid for my tuk tuk ride home (despite the plee's from myself, his neighboring stall keep, and the tuk tuk driver himself), but "I do not have much baht, but I am an honest man" and well, he was having nothing but his way. Oh, earlier that night I went to get some cash out of the bank machine, then after receiving it, went inside to get change for the bill. After a few moments I was informed by one of the attendants that my card had been sucked into the machine. So, while I was thinking about leaving today, it looks like it won't be at least until monday when the banks are open again. No worries, this place is pretty radical anyway. That's about all I got for now.
