Ello folks,

After spending tuesday getting to know the place, we embarked on our first sight seeing expedition on wednesday. We started with a guided bus tour around Cape Town, during which we saw the different areas of the city and were told of the segregation during the apartheid days.
We saw a piece of the Berlin Wall that had been presented to Nelson Mandela and is now mounted near the Victoria and Alfred Docklands area of the city.
It felt a bit strange on the bus tour though, cos it felt like we were in a zoo as everytime we stopped people were shouting and waving.
Probably the highlight of the tour was the cable car journey up to the summit of table mountain - if Vikki wasn't scared enough of the cable car, then the revolving floor was more than enough to see her running to the toilet when we got to the top. The view when you step out is absolutely breathtaking as you can enjoy the sights from the top, and the many paths and walkways that are scattered on the top. Got some great video footage while up there, including the mountain rescue service practicing their helicopter rescue drills (video footage can't be uploaded where we are at the moment).
As the climb down from the 3000 foot summit didn't appeal to us we took the cable car back down as well - it was Rik's turn to be unnerved this time.
The tour ended with us being driven past some of the posher homes and exclusive holiday spots around Camps Bay and Clifton Top where some of the residents have their own cable car down to the beach!
After our hard days sight seeing and doing the touristy thing, we settled in for a slap up feed in a really nice steak house that had been recommended by the hostel and got quite drunk (I dunno Brits on tour eh).

Things to come: Cage diving with Great Whites tomorrow, then shark diving in the aquarium and the tour to Robben Island on monday (tickets for which were as common as rocking horse shit).

Got to go now, early start (5am pick up!) for the cage diving.
