Arrival inPeru

Our journey begins with a 0430 wake up and a drive to Heathrow curtasy of Ainsley (thank you). Change in Madrid and onward to Peru. Flew over the Amizon as we passed over Brasil.

On three hours sleep we then managed to book a flight to Cusco fo the next morming, negotiate a taxi fare, survived the Taxi ride (Peruvian drives are worse than Italians) and haggled a $60 room to $40, result!

Our personal taxi driver, Marco, then picked us up to head back to the airport, and out of Lima, phew...not a nice place.

Only a 2 hour delay waiting for the weather to improve in Cusco...you beat us with your 3 day delay stewie and louie!!!

Landing at Cusco was somewhat dramatic. You fly over the Andies, fly over the runway for the airport, then in a Top Gun style move, the pilot banks the plane and drops in altitude , whilst straigtening up for the runway. Kiss your arse goodbye and then you land....

Cusco is lovely, clean and so far friendly. There are quite a few people trying to sell you tat such as fingerpuppets pictures of llamas etc, a prompt No Gracias usually does the trick, failing that buy something. I am now the proud owner of 5 fingerpuppets, half a dozen pictures of llamas, wrist bands a weaved water bottle holder and a hand painted coconut cup.... Great, you all now know what you are getting at Christmas.

glad you made it safe and sound. surprised you got a piccy of Plaza des Armes so empty. if you see the little kid who overcharged us for soem 'authentic' sketches tell him i want change. also if you see and another little $hit with a fujifilm digital camera, then that's also ours. if he wants to keep the camera fine but let me have the memory card! so you booked your inca trail trip yet? i'd recommned taking a walk up from Cuzci to the Inca ruin pronounced sexy Woman. mind blowing haow they buiilt it by hand all those years ago. clever people, them Incas. did you end up staying in that hotel we told you about. enjoy it, as this time next year you'll be feelijng the same as me and Louisa do now! boo hoo! take care Stu (and Lou)

So glad you have arrived and your exciting journey has begun and I can follow your trip from the office!!!!! are you learning spanish yet and have you started your Inca trail trip - I cannot imagine what its like but I wish I was out of this office. Lots of good luck and love Take care x
