Yes we are still in Vietnam.
Hi all our blog-followers out there.

Sorry no blog for a while but our trip has come to a resounding stop in Mui Ne! No, not trouble but the beautiful chilled out blue ocean beach resort by the fantastic white sand coastline that exists here. We only intended to stay for 2 nights but are now on to our fifth!

The weather is fantastic, the beaches and food amazing and just couldn't be bothered to move on. Tomorrow alas see us heading north to Nha Trang and on from there to Danang and all the war stuff (yes more war stuff). Our mini holiday may have an impact on what we can fit in, but we decided its not all about rushing from one end of the country to the other, rather having a good time and chilling out before getting back to the ratrace. (yuuuurchhhh)

We have a lovely little poolside room here at the blue ocean resort. Theres a sizable pool and large area of beach in front of the resort to spend the days chilling (and going slowly pink in my case). Spent one night socialising with a bunch of Irish guys on a 2

year trip only to crawl in at 3 (in Kates case and spent the next hour vomiting) and 5 (in Mark's case and spent the next 24 hours with the worst hangover this century) Suffice to say yesterday was a complete write-off with both of us vowing never to drink again, ever.

Strolled up the resort to the Sailing Club, another fantastic beach resort where we splashed out on a gourmet meal for two under candlelight, red wine and a cool seabreeze. All for 15 quid and thats going some!! I'm not sure I'll be able to spend nearly a 100quid in The Star ever again. Stuff in Vietnam seems much cheaper compared to Thailand as we've not needed a hole in the wall for ages. We've gotten used to the Dong now, our third currency so far, and you'll be relieved to know that you can only withdraw 2000000 Dong a day at that! It all harks back to the day when the Lire perplexed you when visiting Italy.

Jumped aboard a jeep few days ago for a local tour. Went to see the local white sanddunes and red canyon, walked along a delightful stream in-land (kate

even managed to walk past a bull without freaking out) and visiting the local fishing village with all its colourful craft lying at anchor awaiting that nights fishing activites.

Hope everyone is well at home and coping with the weather and the run up to Christmas. Funnily enough it doesn't feel at all seasonal here and don't think will really miss Christmas but we'll be in NZ by then so may feel different by then.

Keep the emails and messages coming as is nice to hear from home, lots of love Mark and Kate. (P.S our blog has been viewed over 500 times so can't be bad!)

The seafood is fabulous and cheap. Kate loves the spring rolls, while I'm tucking into some rock lobster and hefty tiger prawns. Yum

hey sandflies, how are you both doing? have you actually stopped eating since you left the uk? everything looks so amazing - the colours, scenery, food. I don't blame you for chilling out on the beach you're there to enjoy not just to see everything possible! missing you - stay safe, love anna x

Jealousy is such an ugly thing......
But I'm currently embracing it and content with the feeling whilst curled up with cup of tea!! Yes, it's all bloody Christmasy, the buggers are playing carols in Northallerton town centre and it's not even December yet...Grrrrrr...... Would happily swap food with yours at the mo, and am glad that you are doing well with the old sticks - I should have given you my "idiot-proof sticks" as a leaving prezzie! (Mind you saying that they are somewhat user dependent too!!) Missing you loads, will not be the same without a festive Katus with slightly too much mulled vino... Love to you both, Becca xxx
