Well we made it to Phitsalanok from Chiang Mai an 8 hour train ride. It was way more comfortable than the buses and a nice change of transport. From Phitsalanok we had to take another 1 hour bus ride to the ancient city of Sukothai. When we got to Sukothai I did not have a good first impression. Every taxi driver would not take us to the guesthouse we wanted or even to town. They would only take us to the guesthouse they would recieve comission from. So we finally agreed to go with them because there were no possible ways downtown. When we got there it didnt turn out to be that bad. We paid 10$ and had a pool, private bathroom, hot water and a very nice room.

The next day in Sukothai we explored the Sukothai Historical Park on our bicycles. We went and visited ruins and temples that dated back to the 11th century. It was fun to explore...it was like a treasure hunt. They gave us a map and we could go and search for all the different ruins. That night we went for dinner and drinks with some germans and dutch.

Today we made our way to Ayuthaya. It is another historical city. In Sukothai all the ruins and temples were all in one area and it was a historical park. In Ayuthaya the ruins are all spread out throughout the city. Tomorrow we are going tp rent bikes again and go explore. Apparently Ayuthaya is one city you should not miss when you come to thailand. I feel very burnt out today so i think we are going to spend a couple days here rather that just one that we were planning. Our hotel here feels just like home..a nice place to relax for a few days before the trek over the border to Cambodia
