Was sad to leave the guesthouse in Kratie, nice friendly old place with plenty of pleasant people. The bus ride down toward Phnom Penn was uneventfull and comftable enough. Beacause of a festival in town though the bus had to stop in a field miles out of town, a well recommended guest house was supposed to be there to pick me up with my name on a bit of paper, not to my immense surprise they were not there, after a bit of searching I realised that i was burning up in the hot sun so grumpily I thought ''to hell with them' and found some pleasant people to share a moto into town, which cost almost as much as the bus journey.
Arrived in the backpacker central next to a big lake and checked into a guesthouse that seemed okay, if only for it's lakeside views, the room is a prision cell if ever I saw one.
Don't like to be negative but this town ain''t doing it for me, guess I'm not that much of fan of the big Asian cities (singapore the exception) I''ve had better times in smaller/friendlier and less expensive places.
So I'm pretty much ready to get myself into Vietnam and get travelling up the coast towards Hanoi, yes I should explore Cambodia more but I want to avoid rushing Vietnam and after over 6 months on the road I'm at the stage now where i do what the hell i want to do and not what a guidebook or someone who doesn't know me says I have to do.
