Home to the Simpsons and surf club!
I cannot believe I have been here for a month - the time has gone so quickly but then again, I seem to have done so much.

The Simpson family have certainly made a good move over here - they have my approval, however I will not be joining them (yet!) as Mum and Dad keep asking me. I really think it is a great place to bring up children and for family life. Even though I have not had the bestest of weather that doesnt stop everyone just 'getting out there' and living the outdoor life. We have been on a number of BBQs - Roy gets home from work around 4pm, we all hop into the 'bus' and head to one of the national parks around Orewa where you just stick a two dollar in the BBQ slot and off we go. Seems it is only us English that are currently venturing out without any sun but who cares when you have the views of the sea and a rug to put over you (god how old do I sound?)!! Having my final BBQ tonight as my leaving meal.

The girls have joined the surf club who

take ages from four to start training them to become confident in the surf, life saving and overall general fitness. On enrollment day about sixty youngsters were split into groups and set off doing various exercises - I could have got away with joining in as most of them were taller than me! Whatever the weather they get out there and train. Georgia was on the surf board the second time and looked like a pro paddling out and riding the wave - very proud of her as it was bloody freezing! Hopefully when I visit again she will be standing up and will give me a lesson.

Auckland is like any other city really and only been in there a couple of times (mainly to shop!) 30minute drive away. Took the girls up the Sky Tower for their first time which had good views over the city and afar. Also whilst having a coffee at the top we could see the people coming down doing their bungy jumps - no way was Tamsin going to let her Dad do it.

Where they live has a park at the back so they are off to play there quite

a lot when their friends come to call. Then on bonfire night all the neighbours got together and we had a great firework display. Apparently though they are going to ban bonfire night next year as everyone goes mad and there are so many accidents. I could understand why as the parents literally let off the fireworks about 10 metres in front of everyone...I was a little worried but then I still did my sparklers and wrote out my name with them (always the big kid!).

Mum and Dad arrived yesterday - Georgia and Tamsin had made a great sign to welcome them at the airport but it was me and Nic who ended up carrying it as they ran to hug them when they came through arrivals....Nic and I were just in tears...and Roy, of course...taking the mickey!!

So bye to New Zealand, bye to the Simpsons. I have had a great time and will miss you loads.....ps Georgia I am still taller than you...xx
