Well we arrived safely.
Friday 3rd November didnt really exist in our heads, we arrived once it was dark- but after leaving the UK in the dark on Thursday night it was strange not to see day light! All we managed to do was eat and then head straight to bed.
We're staying at the YMCA (according to my 14 year old cousin, this is where the Gays stay!!) let me tell you its like no hostel I've ever seen, you get clean towels every day and also free mini shampoos, shower caps etc! Its a great luxury and a lovely start of 5 months of travel.
Saturday 4th November has been great, we started this morning with a boat ride over to the main Island of Hong Kong passing the great skyscraper sky line, followed by a tram ride and a walk which was a great insight to 'proper' China. So far all we had seen was the Western side of the city with McDonalds and Pizza Hut signs on every corner! This short walk turned into 4 hours, but it was lovely and the weather was perfect- not too humid.
Lunch was entertaining- we thought we would do as the locals and decided to eat a 'proper Chinese' mmmm wont be trying that again was served raw noodles- very crispy... dont ask!
Dinner has been equally entertaining trying to order in our typical English manner by raising our voices and pointing a lot... it doesnt appear to be working very well!
As I write this in our Internet Cafe in the lobby of the hostel at 9.30pm in the evening, we are about ready for bed- our heads are still adjusting.

Mmmmm sounds lovely you just can’t beat the good old hot wok at Bullbrook shops. I can’t believe you are both on the other side of the world I miss you loads already. Clare Sarah came back Wednesday and as predicted hit the roof the sad old hag!!!!!!!! Dan have you grown a beard yet?? We just got back in from Ikea it was hell. Well that sit for today have a great next few days guys and I will e mail you again soon. Love you both lots. Snog Snog Cuddle. P.S It’s flippin freezing here :)
