Hola y buenos noches from Cancún!

Claire:
We have arrived safely (yay!) after muchas travelling... our flights were long but good with only tiny delays and comfy seats with shockingly tasty airplane food (we got pizza!). We arrived around 10pm local time last night (we're 6 hours behind you guys the whole time we're over here) and went straight to our hostel. we ventured out for some water but went straight to bed after that. We woke early to explore the area our hostel is in; we’re staying in Ciudad Cancún which is very different from the Zona Hotelera where all the fancy rich folk go. We found a nice little beach that was quite quiet and settled in for some lunch by the ocean with obligatory cervesa (the food was fantastic, we only had chicken and rice but it was lip-smackingly good!). Then the cervesa took effect and a nap became a must. A lazy afternoon and a wander down to this internet café brings you up to date.
Just to let you know, the temperature here is around 27°C though we got caught out a bit by the sudden torrential downpours followed by blinding sunshine. Some photos of

playa tortugas was in the guide book as one of the more popular beaches in cancun but there weren't many folk around when we were there. this was a quiet little rock bit at the end of the beach where fishermen were line fishing for the fish to serve in todays ceviche at the bar we ate in.
the beach we ate at and the airports (very dull) should be attached.

Ross:
Foods great, weather’s hot and the beer is cheap. Viva Mexico!
