I have to spend some time in San Diego and I want to know what the best things to do are. I have never been there and have no ideas except for the zoo.

I have yet to visit the Zoo, although I hear it really is fantastic. Be prepared though, lots of hills from what I hear.
There is also Sea World, although they have these all over the States. I haven't been for years, but would like to go back since they have made a lot of changes.
Old Town San Diego
http://www.oldtownsandiego.org/ is beautiful, good for some photography.
Gaslamp district
http://www.gaslamp.org/ is worth a looksie.
Mission Beach
http://www.sandiego.gov/lifeguards/beaches/mb.shtml is a nice beach area if that's what you're looking for. Belmont Park is also there if you enjoy amusement rides and such.
