Traveling around is as well witnessing everyday at home and abroad the extent of the global warming...By sharing your experiences & observations, awareness will spread... here is an open testimony of what is happening now...just as we read this blog...
As I browse the travelblog I realized how many of you mentioned the Global Warming in your blog...melting ice, entire area that have dried up over the years, extremely warm or cold whether when you would expect the contrary...corals dying slowly...
I search a bit further and couldn’t find any post about this issue although most of you do talk and write about it...
So here it is... Let's share our experiences, daily observations as we discover everyday an other part of our earth...
February 2008 - China - Shanghai
Snow... the city which name means "above water" was under snow... far from prepared for it as the last time this happened (smaller scale) was more than 50 years ago... Around the country, the wave of cold was disastrous and thousands of hundreds were stuck in train stations (most people were leaving for the Chinese New Year), villages had no more water or electricity and the big modern city of Shanghai suddenly slowed down while the road menders were spreading waters on the ice so that it melts (yes...water...). Let you imagine how the roads were on the second day...
Discussion is now opened ... so let's share your comments!

I am moving this interesting topic to the forum set up especially for members to discuss the news and how it effects and relates to travel.
I am not sure if I am witnessing global warming here in Bavaria where I live or if it is a conincidence that there has not been much snow this year or last year.

Reply to this The US got me as most of them do not recycle and most of them have a deaf ear to this situation and then yet they talk about freak weather, surely can they not add two and two together and figure out its global warming. When one mintute its hot and sunny in Alabama and the next it snows does that not tell you something, oh well i will keep trying to do my bit and maybe the people with blinkers will realise eventually.
Reply to this Reducing is a good idea, offsetting is developed countrys way of passing on its burden to undeveloped countrys and therefore not letting this countrys develop....just my 2 cents
