Hi folks,
we'll be driving around the north east for a minth, starting next week. Any idea about the itinerary and the places to see, especially in Ohio, Pensilvania and NY state?
Cheers
Mark
Reply to this I-80 is pretty standard to get from Boston to Chicago; however, when I was coming back from Maine to Champaign, Illinois, I drove through the Adirondack Mountains and WOW. I know NYC is huge and you have to visit... but if you can get to the Catskills or the Adirondacks in NY state, you won't regret it. Look up a few websites about scenic routes in New England and enjoy the fall in the east (below is a link about NY scenic routes). It's unforgettable!

Have fun!
Reply to this I had a really fun time in Pensilvania and NY State a couple of years ago, but that was with my family including teenagers and a toddler, so I think that the places we went to may not be relevant for the type of trip you are planning. A couple of things that I would suggest for adults, though, are:
1. Check out the
Harley Davidson factory tour in York (don't forget closed shoes!), 2. The
Corning Glass Museum is also beautiful, and well worth a visit.
For other places of interest in the area, I use a road trip planner called
Tripcart . You can use it to find places of interest, attractions, "nearby hotels", and lots of very useful information about each region of the US. If you're not too late for Fall Foliage, and it interests you, there is a whole section dedicated to that.
