Need suggestions for places to stay, routes, etc.

Planning a trip for next June or July. We will have about 7-8 days for travel. Wanting to fly into Seattle and stay about 2 days then start driving down the coast for the scenery. Travel down to San Fran and stay there 2-3 days. So I guess I am looking for suggestions on how to split up the driving times and places to stop/stay along the way? Will be 2 adult couples, no kids traveling. Thanks in advance for any advice!! Reply to this

Matt,
Welcome to Travelblog! The west coast of the United States is an incredibly popular road trip that many bloggers have done (myself included). Your proposed itinerary is make-able but will leave little time for sightseeing. Five days combined in Seattle and San Francisco will leave three for driving. The coast road is ~900 miles, much of that on curvy slow roads. Plan on at least eight hours a day in the car, possibly more.
Find an extra day or two, and things become more manageable. A previous forum topic has many ideas on this drive: Road Trip from San Francisco to Seattle. The blogs from the towns along the way will also be filled with worthwhile ideas.
Enjoy the adventure, and looking forward to reading the blogs. Reply to this
