Welcome to Travelblog! Your proposed schedule is certainly doable, although you'll have to make some tradeoffs. San Francisco to Tahoe is around 225 miles and requires 4 hours. Lake Tahoe to Portland inland is 620 miles, half on mountain roads, and requires 12 hours. Portland to San Francisco via the coast is 860 miles and requires around 19.5 hours. Assuming 8 hours per day of driving, that leaves 5.5 days for touring. Fast paced but manageable.

The coast by itself could easily absorb a week. It covers amazing beaches, huge sand dunes, old fishing villages, the world's largest trees, and incredible wilderness. Northwest Oregon also has a number of classic beach resorts. Many bloggers have done this trip (myself included); search the relevant towns to read their impressions.

Personally, I would want more touring time. This would entail dropping either Tahoe, or Portland and the Northern Oregon coast to get more time in the rest.

Enjoy the trip. Looking forward to reading the blogs! Reply to this
