1.Do I need a visa to go to Colombia?
Well, it depend the purpose of your trip, your nationality, and how long you will stay in Colombia.
If you are planning to stay up to 90 days and you are from any of these countries, you don’t need a Visa!
Germany, Andorra, Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Barbados, Belgium, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Brunei Darussalam, Bhutan, Canada, Czech Republic, Chile, Cyprus, Republic of Korea (South Korea), Costa Rica, Croatia, Denmark, Dominica, Ecuador, El Salvador, United Arab Emirates, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, United States of America, Estonia, Fiji, Philippines, Finland, France, Greece, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Hungary, Indonesia, Ireland, Iceland, Marshall Islands, Solomon Islands, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Micronesia, Monaco, Norway, New Zealand, Netherlands, Palau, Panama, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, Portugal, United Kingdom, Dominican Republic, Romania, Russian Federation, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Samoa, San Marino, Santa Lucia, the Vatican, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Singapore, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey, Uruguay, Venezuela, Hong Kong, Taiwan.

2. If my country is not in the list above, how can I ask a Tourist visa?
You can ask a tourist Colombia Visa in the Consular Office of Colombia that is more convenient for you. To ask the visa you need to show the following documentation:
You will need to provide financial evidence that shows you have enough money to cover your expenses during you trip in Colombia.
If a Colombian is inviting you to the country, you will need an invitation letter saying that the Colombian will be responsible for you during your trip, and also taking the responsibility for you arrival and departure from Colombia. Financial evidence showing that your Colombian sponsor has enough money to pay your trip is also mandatory.
Photocopy or electronic information of the tickets to enter and leave Colombia.

3. If during my stay in Colombia I want to stay longer as a tourist, Can I extend my permit?
Yes, you can extend your permit to be in Colombia 90 days more, Colombian Law establishes that a foreigner can be in Colombia up to 180 days under a tourist visitor visa or any other kind of visitor visa.
Student Visa
You can ask an Colombian Student Visa if you want to study in an institution well recognized by the Colombian government, these studies must last at least 10 hours per week.
When you are in a student exchange program in an institution recognized by Colombian Government.
When you have to make an internship that is specified in your school curriculum, then you can have a student visa to work as an intern in Colombia.
You can change the student visa for any other kind of visa once you end studying.
I you want to ask a student visa you will need the following documentation:
Photocopy of the certificate of admission or enrollment issued by the institution you are going to study in.
Colombian School constitution document and the operation license of the school
Letter from the person who is sponsoring you saying that he or she will be responsible for you expenses in the county (in case you have a sponsor). You will need to provide financial evidence that shows you or your sponsor has enough money to cover your tuition and living expenses in the country during your studies.

4. If I am already in Colombia with a tourist visa or an entry permit, can I apply for a student visa without leaving the country?
Yes, you can since you provide Colombian government with all the documentation required for a student visa.
