Looking to take the Open water PADI course. Anyone any advice for where is best in Philippines to take it

Hi,

I'm looking to take my PADI open water course whilst in the Philippines this November. I do plan on scuba diving in more than one place. I'm hoping to scuba in Palawan in El Nido and Busanga on Coron. Also looking at diving nearer Cebu City and Bohol and possibly off Luzon.

There seems plenty of places to take the course. Just wondering if anyone here has taken one there and could recommend it. I imagine prices will be relatively similar for all the different locations, just looking for good teaching and an enjoyable time.

I'm quite keen on building up my experiences and course training as i'm travelling around Asia and want to use the Philippines to start the process.

Many Thanks

Hi Dan! Welcome to the Philippines 😊.The only place I've tried is at Bohol, which was okay and cheaper than those found in El Nido and Coron. But if you're looking for something more, go to El Nido Marine Reserve Park in El Nido (which might be pricier) but I heard the marine park is amazing.

If you have time to spare and you're a bit more confident in your diving skills, drop by Occidental Mindoro, also known as the Marine Wonderland. Occidental Mindoro is the diving mecca of the Philippines and has the largest atoll-like reef in Asia, a 34 km atoll! Enjoy your stay in the Philippines. Happy diving, enjoy your stay in the Philippines!

I'll hopefully get to dive in 3 or 4 different locations in the Philippines, it looks some of the best in the world and very diverse.

I like your recommendation of Occidental Mindoro, i've dived once before but if i get a few sites in then i reckon i'd be good to try this.

Your web link looks good and i'll definitely use it to review more of the philippines. Thanks Reply to this

You're very welcome Dan. It's a pleasure to help out!

Diving in 3 or 4 locations in the Philippines sounds fun! There are many great underwater sights here and we are sure you will be fascinated. Another place to try diving at is in Tubbataha Reef in Palawan. Absolutely breathtaking! Reply to this
