Sales tax aware currency converter for Visitors to USA and Canada

Converting a price dollar price tag into euros in the US and Canada doesn\'t work, because the sales tax is missing. This free smartphone app adds the sales tax before converting.

In the US and Canada the sales tax is not included on the price tag, it\'s added at the checkout.

\"How much Euro?\" calculates the tax and adds it before converting dollars into Euros. This helps travellers, exchange students and other visitors to the US and Canada to understand quickly how much an item costs in Euro just like they are used to in their home country even before they go to the cashier.

I created this app because I was frustrated because I couldn\'t really tell if I\'ve found a bargain or not.

It\'s free and available for Android and soon for iPhone.

Different states have different sales tax or non at all...have you included all the individual states differences? For example, washington state has a flat sales tax on everything, oregan next door only has it on petrol and ciggies... Reply to this

Traveling in the US can be frustrating for everyone-- US citizens included because the price is never the price.

Sales tax is never included in the advertised price and for accommodations one must add in crazy things like resort tax. When purchasing concert tickets they add sales tax and convenience charges. Often times it is shocking when one gets the final bill.

As Tam said each state is different. Local taxes can also be added on so watch out for that.

Hi Tam and Dave,

Because of the many different taxes I just included a quick way to set the tax yourself.

Most of the users just need it to quickly evaluate a bargain and can set the standard sales tax.

There are even city sales taxes added on in places. Just come to Montana, we don't have sales tax, save in about 3 cities. Reply to this
