www.europetravelchallenge.com is my blog documenting a personal challenge to visit every European country.
I love visiting new countries and experiencing the culture, architecture, history and probably most of all – the food! I’m Rob and together with my wife Billie we have been lucky enough to enjoy a few city breaks every year for the past eight or so years. We’ve racked up quite a few places on our travels now, and I’ve decided that we should try and visit every country in Europe as a challenge.
I’ve started a blog as a place to post our memories and hopefully have some interesting discussions with other who love travelling.
Why Europe? Well, its easy to get to – pretty much anywhere is reachable on a flight from London in a few hours. Its reasonably cheap (though we tend to spend more on food than on hotels and flights!). Also for such a small geographic area it is massively varied in culture, language, politics and pretty much everything else you can think of. I’ll be posting some useful stuff about places we’ve already been to – and posting updates about new places too.
I hope you enjoy sharing our memories, and maybe help us out with planning our next trip if you have some insider information!
Reply to this Weekends away are a great idea. I wished I was closer to Europe so I could do that too. lol
I look forward to following along on your travels virtually.
Reply to this Thanks very much! Hopefully I'll tick off the rest of Europe soon and can start working my way out, I'll probably get to Australia for my 90th birthday 😊
Reply to this Australia is a beautiful place. Its always good to have a long term plan too.
I have slotted in Italy for my 40th (2019), Antarctica for my 50th (2029) but I also plan for Egypt, Peru, Norfolk Island in the next few years.
Reply to this If you are not close to Europe; find some cheap tickets for 500 Euros or so to make you closer to there in major sites like: kayak.com, mommondo.com, bookingbuddy.com, upiq.com, expedia, orbitz, travelocity, priceline, cheaptickets
