Do you travel with dive insurance?

Have you ever had to use it? Which company are you using? If you have not used it do you have any friends who have? What has been their experience?

We have been insured with Dive Alert Network for years. Fortunately we have never had to use it.
They have provided good customer service. We were on an island in the Caribbean when they had to air evacuate a diver. The word on the island was they did a nice job. Reply to this

I am with DAN who smoothed things through regarding my changing pre booked trips that I had to re schedule due to injury - I hadnt thought of asking DAN for assistance but my doctor suggested it (he is a diver himself) and they were fantastic.

Giant recently got his CMAS certification and there is a diver insurance body under CMAS..I just need to read the fine print to see what the difference between CMAS and DAN is. I assume they would be much of the same.

I have not had to use DAN for rescue purposes although when I was diving in Komodo another diver was lost for hours and ended up badly sun and wind burnt and required hospitalisation which DAN paid for and organised all the logistics for. Anyone diving without insurance takes a huge risk IMO. Reply to this
