4 Mola Mola's in Nusa Penida, Bali - one at only 10 metres which is quite rare apparently! She did look a bit lost.
Lonely Tree in Komod National park had some of the best coral gardens I have ever seen and with a bottom time of 74mins it was a real treat!
Diving the wrecks of Coron in the Philippines. Having a friend as a diving instructor there meant we got to explore a lot of the ship that many people cannot get to. We had to go through an air vent not much wider than ourselves to get to the engine room of one of them - not for the faint hearted but well worth it.
Mabul, Malaysian Borneo. Madul's noisy neighbour gets mmost of the attention (Sipidan) but Mabul has some very special dive sights.
Reply to this Scott, I love Mabul as well... one of my husband's friends owns one of the diving schools in Semporna and he took us to what he calls 'Tino's Paradise': we had a bottom time of over an hour as well and we saw lots and lots of macro life, in which he is quite an expert. It was amazing because we would have never seen all that stuff with anyone else, I'm sure.
I think Sipadan and Mabul are both amazing places, but for very different reasons: Sipadan's beauty is more 'in your face' with all those corals and big creatures, whether Mabul is more discreet and you have to look a bit harder
Reply to this Just saw a MASSIVE mola-mola gently finning against the current today off Nusa Lembongan, Bali Indonesia!! Soooooo cool - I wanted to stay down there forever with it!!! <snip>

Reply to this Diving is definitely the most amazing experience one can have specially when it is Maldives. I loved diving in the Maldivian waters for the following reasons:
-Meditative effect and soothing feeling
-Rare sights of the guitar shark
-Colourful serendipity of the ocean
-The more promiscuous species
It was an experience of a lifetime.
Reply to this The problem with this thread is that it makes you want to book a dive trip.
The difficulty comes in deciding where to go.
Reply to this My best dives were on WWII wrecks in Truk Lagoon. Words can't describe the feelings when you see the skull of soldiers still inside some of the wrecks. Here's a link to the blog for those interested.
I love penetration! Reply to this
