Camera and Battery Advice.

Which camera and batteries to take.
17 years ago, October 27th 2006 No: 1 Msg: #8176
Just a quick question, I am just buying various bits and pieces for my year long trip around the world and need some advice on a couple of things.

I have settled on a camera to buy, I am going for the Canon S3 IS - if anyone has an opinion on this then please let me know.

Th emain query is that the camera uses 4 x AA batteries. Has anyone taken a battery recharger with them or do you find it easier to just buy batteries as you go? (would this work out quite expensive??)

We purchased a battery charger when we bought a new camera in Sydney and it was invaluable. Never had a problem plugging it in anywhere in America (N & S) with a universal plug adapter (in fact the only problem we had in this respect was using it back home in the UK as it was an Aussie plug and the UK adaptor disappeared a long time ago). The camera is currently vacationing in Bahrain so I can't confirm exactly what type the batteries are (Lithium-Ion?) but they lasted noticeably longer than standard batteries. Reply to this
