Going to Toronto area this weekend, driving. Need help with planning to see places around. Know this is last minute. Pleaseee help ... we don't want to wrong do it.
Hi We are planning to drive to Canada this weekend for a 3.5 day trip from Washington DC. Traveling with our two kids (6, 2)
I visited Toronto and Montreal 7 - 8 years ago but now wife wants to visit the place and have fun. I know many might have changed. I tell what i have in mind but really need some help from seasoned travelers from that area.
Place planning to cover (Flexible to take a new one)
Toronto (CN towers, zoo are to cover .. what else?)
Thousand Islands
Niagara Falls
Montreal (Can we do it?)
We are open to trade off any of the above if there are better things to cover given our time line.
- Starting in DC on Friday(May 28th) evening so plan to make a halt after 6 - 7 hr drive. That should put me 2 -3 hours away from Toronto. Hence current plan is to hit Toronto Saturday morning. (Now what to see? )
- Sunday - Planning to visit Thousand Islands for a cruise. Not sure what else we can do.
- Monday head back to Niagara to see it at night.
Not really excited about the above plan and i am sure some one can help me to make a better trip out of this. Please Please help!!!!!
Reply to this Forget Montreal! Aldo its a great weekend to go to Montreal with all the beer fest coming up. But you will miss on too much things if you do those 4 place.
Go to Niagara fall is a must, dont sleep there. Get to Toronto and wake up early. Go to the CN tower, eaton center, the great lake (tram it) watch a Jays game at night ( so cheap). Day 2 . with kids you might want to go to Canadas wonderland. The zoo is great.
You might want to go to Ottawa instead of MTL. Lots of museum. Kids will love it.

Reply to this That's an awful lot of driving - especially when there is so much to do in Toronto and Niagara Falls. River Road and the Niagara Parkway is a beautiful drive - wineries and Brock's Monument - picnic - Dufferin Islands to swim - Maid of the Mist which is really quite a neat thing to do. St Lawrence Market in Toronto - just google 25 Things to do in Toronto - you'll find oodles of things to keep you busy.
Whatever you decide - hope you have a great time!
