Hi to all out there.

I would like to check if what is the best timing of the year to visit the US? And I would like to find out if its true that I heard regarding places around the West Coast, that the weather is always cool and no summer/winter?

Hi Adam -

Because the U.S is so large with such a wide range of climates and geography, anytime of year can be nice as long as you are visiting the right location.

If you want to visit the West Coast, I would recommend you visit in July or August. Summer is absolutely beautiful, but the rest of the year is hit or miss. Last year in Seattle we had one day that was 104F (40C!), but it is usually around 70-80F (20-26C) between June - August with sunshine or a few clouds. Late July is my favorite time of year in Northwest.

November though March is typically cool and wet. It can get cold and snow, but it more likely to hover around 40F (5C) and rain.

If there are particular places in the West Coast (or elsewhere in the country) that you have questions about, please ask about them. The more specific you can be, the better answers you will get.

Hi, tks so much for the input. I am checking if all parts of the US experience the 4 seasons, and what I understand is that the west coast is pretty having stable weather all year round. Is there true?

Also, how is the transport in California? Can I rent a car and say drive within LA, San Frans? Is there any website that u will recommend to rent the car so that I can pick up once I hit the airport?

As this is my first trip to the US, say if I want to travel within a month, how many places can I travel and how is the suggested route going to be?

Lastly, can u advise if I can watch NBA and also WWF as I would like to watch it live. Any idea which states offer the chance?

Many thanks in advance! Reply to this

Hi you could start in Seattle in the summer and drive...pick up rental from airport then check out Seattle which is terrificin the summer then a few hours south on the I-5 is Portland-cool city vibe, then drive to San Francisco taking in the vinyards in Napa (if you like wine and drinking) get into San Francisco. then after staying time in SF take the coast freeway through Carmel, Monterey Santa Barbara (beautiful drive!) Then continue on the 101 freeway into Los Angeles, then go to San Diego which is the best place in the summer. NBA? Seattle and Portland and even Sac. Kings are on your way... If you still have time you could drive to Phoenix too about 6 hours from San Diego or even Vegas!!! Have fun! Reply to this
