Spy Camera

Want to find a really good small camera
14 years ago, March 4th 2010 No: 1 Msg: #105759
I purchased a "fountain pen" spy camera that was terrible. Paid $129 for it. Quality is very poor and taking pictures is a pain. You will get caught every time you try use it. I saw an inexpensive "key chain remote " camera from China however it has very limited operating time. Has anyone purchased a very small digital camera that one can conceal and that works well?If you have tell me about it. Reply to this

I was a professional photographer (now retired) and have numerous cameras. I just like to drop a small camera in my pocket and generally carry it all the time. I carry it like some people carry keys. There is a small digital that I leave in my automobile all the time. Never know when I will get a great shot of some kind. Reply to this

Oh ok, was just wondering why you were worried about being caught. What kind of things do you take photos of that need that type of discreteness?
Mobile Phones/Cells have pretty decent cameras on them these days. I carry that with me and is fairly decent for impromptu photo sessions. That goes with me everywhere i go. I take it you don't carry mobile phones? Reply to this

checkmyspeedo---More and more places have signs prohibiting photos. Stopped at a Burger King in West Memphis a few weeks ago and a sign on the door said no photos. I really did not care but the prohibition just bugs me. Many retail stores in the area now prohibit cameras---you would think they were guns. Museums almost always prohibit the taking of flash photos and some all photos. I do have an iPhoen, however the problem with an iPhone is that the pictures are not that great quality and you are easily spotted taking a photo with one. I attended a wedding recently and took a couple of photos. The photographer saw me take the photos and quickly admonished me that he had the exclusive contract for any photos taken at the wedding. Once again this just bugs me and had I had an inconspicuous camera no one would know the difference. Reply to this

Well that last example the wedding, that is completely ridiculous. Who doesn't take photos at weddings. As for flash photography in museums, i usually just laugh at people who do because most museums usually contain glass and you know what happens when flash hits glass. I am sure there are many legitimate uses for small inconspicuous cameras but i guess there are also the people who use them for other means such as in change rooms and pools. Don't take that the wrong way though, im not saying you are one of those people. Reply to this
