Can Minors (people under the age of 18) travel alone from the US to other countries in europe by themselves? Reply to this

Hi Jess,

With proper documentation, yes they can.

This means registering with the airline prior to the flight.

You have two categories, the below 15 (this may vary in age from airline to airline). At that age they fly as unaccompanied minors. You pay a fee and they are escorted by airline staff.

Above 15, they can fly on their own, no escort. Make sure they are equipped with cash and credit card and try to avoid stop-overs which could lead to delay/cancle flights and missing connections.

Hope this help,

Hello Jesse 😊

I they they can travel alone, but the parents or guardians would need to sign something giving their concent. Also, some airlines will ask you to sign something saying you will pay all expenses it takes to get the minor back home if anything goes wrong on the flight or if a designated adult is not there to meet the minor at the other end of the flight.
