Reply to this im hoping its not much better than my G9, I got the G9 instead of buying the G10 because the G9 had a feature that wasnt on the G10 that I like to use - time lapse. I only got it about 6 months ago but will stick with it because I like it and also because I bought the underwater housing too which cost a load!
Reply to this Oh good - they made it easier to find the zoom on them. I have an SD880IS. I looked all over for the zoom. Had it almost 6 months before my finger happened to run over an odd bump. Started pushing it back and forth and I had zoom. Ok, if I had read the stupid book it came with .... LOL
Reply to this I've been using the Canons for years and love the pictures. But mostly its because the ones I have used have the adjustable screen that folds out and twists.
My A650 has just died (screen failure) and this week i paid to have it repaired because Canon did not make a flip out screen! Then i see this!!
It make such a difference to travel photography - you dont have to hold the camera up and make people aware of it, and you can get into tight corners. Its amazing there are so few cameras with this on the market.
If this has the flip screen, i'm on it!
Reply to this Big downside: this G11 doesn't use 'normal' batteries, rather a rechargeable own brand one.
Not good when travelling.
Reply to this Pretty much any camera you buy today will use own brand batteries because of their superior charge holding abilities. Similar to a laptop, camera eat a lot of power. I've never had problems charging mine on the road...

Reply to this Its just handy to be able to pick up batteries no matter which country you are in. I use rechgargables anyway cos they hold a charge better and save the environment.
Glad i got my camera fixed this week, and i picked up some batteries for it from a little shop this morning when i was out taking photos!
Reply to this Took mine on vacation for most of a week and did not have to worry about battery. I was taking videos and everything.
