Some online travel agencies are cheating customers

To all travelers: be aware if you plan to book online. Most online travel agencies have a very poor customer support (this is not a crime) but some of them are actively cheating customers. Personally I had a really bad experience using EXPEDIA. EXPEDIA lied, cheated and tried to keep money from my credit card. I decided to run a website to alert as many people as I can about my case (http://www.victimsofexpedia.com). Other travel agencies seem to be the same: Just search about "complaints + NAME of the COMPANY" in any search engine and you will read thousands of horribles stories. Good luck travelers.

You have to realized that Expedia is NOT a travel agent! They are a seller of travel products. Most "real" travel agents are very honest and will not cheat you. We used to be travel agency owners ahd had people constantly coming to us for assistance because they had been cheater by a huge online discounter or other online travel company. Sometimes we could help and sometimes we could not. When things like this happen, it is a bad situation not only for the consumer, but the travel agent community as well. It's really not fair to lump all travel agents into the same category. There are some really great agents out there who are very honest and extremely hard working.

There is a new company out there that is not a travel agency, but has brought a group of reputable travel agencies together to try and combat this problem. They are a new company and growing every day. They also have some leading travel suppliers, such as cruise lines, participating with them. I suggest you try them out. Their site is www.travelmarketconnection.com. Reply to this
