Hello.
My family is visiting Oralndo in late October and staying at Vista Cay which I understand is near the Conference Centre. I would be very keen to learn any tips to help make my trip a happy and memorable one. Any advice on helping our budjet, where to eat, best buy Park Tickets and any other money saving tips would be great. We will be 6 adults and 2 children.
Can you advise if Lake Cay is suitable for fishing and are we likely to be chased by Alligators, my Grandson thinks that would be great but my Son in Law is not so sure.
Where is the best bargain clothes shopping in the area (jeans and stuff).
Will we expect a lot of rain late October early November? Will it be t shirts and shorts all the time or will we need something warmer?
Advice on any of the above would be hugely appreciated. this is a "Holiday of a Lifetime" for us and as the benefactor I really do want to try and make it special.
Thanks.

Hi,

You should like Vista Cay, some friends recently stayed there & loved it. We usually just when we're there, since there are a lot available pretty cheap online & you get a kitchen to cook in. (Eating out in Orlando can be expensive.) Most of the discount tickets require you to sit through a sales presentation - not a lot of fun on vacation, I think Universal is still giving 10%!a(MISSING)t the gate off for AAA members, which is probably the best price. Gatorland is a great (and affordable) 1/2 day attraction.
Lake Cay is not much of a lake for fishing - definitely catch & release only, but no gators - much too small a lake & too urban an area, so your Son in Law can relax.
The Best deals on clothes are at the Premium Outlets on S. International Drive - most of the "roadside" jeans & t-shirt places are overpriced, but the outlets have some real deals.
The time you'll be there is not usually rainy - usually in the 70's, might pack 1-2 long sleeves, but you probably won't need them. The fall is really the best time to go, since the crowds are less & the weather isn't as sweltering. There's a couple of great restaurants where you're staying:is a Caribbean themed restaurant with a great outdoor patio, and Jacks Place in the Omni is a terrific steak house.
If you do get roped into one of the many timeshare promotions, don't buy anything before looking at online - the resort prices are much higher.
Best wishes for the "Holiday of a Lifetime"!
