Good hostel in Toronto

Hi All

I am heading to Toronto with my boyfriend in early July, and would appreciate your recommendations for a hostel!

Somewhere central, clean and friendly - but not too noisy!

Thanks

Hi Clare - We stayed a the Canadiana Backpackers hostel a few years ago and enjoyed it. We only stayed one night so we didn't get to do any of the activities or events they had planned, but the people there were definitely friendly, and it was clean. It was Andras' first time hosteling and he thought it was great. We met some folks who had been staying there for a few months while they interned in the city, so I would think that the noise level we experienced there (low-average hostel noises) was the norm.

It was also walking distance to a street full of eateries and pubs, although it was located off a rather quiet side-street. We were there in 2006 so it may have changed a little, I can't know for sure.

Hello Clare 😊

There is student accomodation accross the street from Ryerson college in downtown Toronto. They turn it into a hotel in Summer time. You can rent a room long term or for even one night. I forget the name of the building and the street. Maybe somebody else can help, or else you can just look up the address of Ryerson College.

Canadiana Backpackers is awesome, I have been there twice in 2004 and 2007
Second time was not as great as the first time i must admit as there was a rat running around in my room
plus quite a few people who run the place seem to be into drugs
