Hello

I'm going to NYC for a week next month. I'm planning on using my iphones gps fuctions, the problem is, my cell plan charges heavily on roaming. Is there a way i can get a local sim card, to use while i'm in the city?

I don't think so... But there are lots of free wi-fi hot spots in NYC. Bryant Park among other places. So I would recommend turning off your cell service and using the wi-fi around the city. Reply to this

is there really no way i can buy paid-for-service. Used to do that alot when travelling in europe and asia.

But good tip anyways, under alle circumstances, I will definitely use the hot spots.

I may be wrong, but I don't think it is possible with the iphone. With other phones I think it is possible to prepay. Reply to this
