Is the Great Barrier Reef a place where only white people can enjoy? Well according to The Best Job In The World’s TOP 50 picks it might be.
Say it’s not so:
For such a beautiful place on earth, we SEE something that The Great Barrier may NOT have meant to show us: their prejudice.
That’s right; out of over thirty four thousand applications submitted they could NOT find ONE Black person for their Top fifty picks? HUM it makes you wonder. What's your thoughts on this?

this is one of those things that make you go Hummm?
Reply to this Hello Von 😊
Here is a related thread.
Rascism
Out of interest, what percentage of those applicants were women and how many of the top 50 are women?

Reply to this Just checked it now. There are plenty of women amongst them and also some non white people.
Do you know what percentage of the initial applicants are black? If one in 50 of the applicants are black, then there would likely be a black person amongst the finalists presuming the competition is fair. If there are fewer than that, it would be a lot less likely even if the competition is fair.
Reply to this On the outside looking in, it just looks really bad. Because there are NO blacks in list, and I saw one black guy on you tube and some guys on their video page when it had all of the up.
you tube: the best job in the world winner
It was a funny black guy there talking about it, he worked at a radio station or something
Reply to this There were probably a lot of fantastic people who didnt make it to the shortlist of just 50 people out of over 35,000. Thousands of the applicants were probably media students and professionals.
Reply to this Yea- Yea, I hear you, But being a black female I know it hard getting a fair shake in life, and if you was a black person you might feel the same way I do. But I guess they are the only ones who may see 20/20 about this subconscious or blatant prejudice.
Also I looked at the top 50 and yes some are very very good. But that radio guy's video is a whole LOT better.
just copy a check his video out for you self:
Be honest and tell me if you still feel the same way after veiwer at them. OK

I just have the female half of that, but it is enough to know what you mean. It gives such hope to see a very special member of your group get something wonderful, so it can become normal and acceptable for members of that group to get that job. And it is then disappointing when no representative of the group gets a chance to start showing everybody that we can do it.
I think there are people who are against discrimination because they know it is unfair and wrong, but there are others who really do believe that some people are better than others because of race or gender, until enough of that race or gender prove them wrong. Not easy to patiently wait for the minds of the world to open when it happens so painfully slowly.

Hey, I am not such a great judge of media. There are members of this site that can give a much better opinion than I can, so I will leave it to them to say how good he is.
Reply to this As well as that, I have not been watching the videos of the other contestants, so have nothing to compare with.
Reply to this so the island is going to be an all white party of blue eyes?....lol
