Has anyone taken the ferry from Mazatlan to La paz recently on a motorbike? If so, how much does it cost-there are conflicting prices out there online. Cheers- Reply to this

oh sure, now it lets me post! I sent you a private message already...but here's my answer! To go from Mazatlan to Pichilingue (la paz) it is about $60 (600 pesos) for a motorcycle, just to get on the ferry. Then you have to buy a seat per person, you are not allowed to stay downstairs with your vehicle. The trip is an 18 hour HELL trip overnight!! If you chose Salon seating, you will feel like cattle -- but its highly entertaining for about 3 minutes -- this costs about $27US per person. Most people I know only do this once, and always opt for a room/cabin which is about $54US and $81US (that is without or with bathroom). You can call the terminal via a toll free number from USA to reserve, or call the terminals direct (pilichingue is or Mazatlan ().

Hello Andrea and Graham 😊

I snipped the phone numbers from the above post. This is to prevent spammers from gathering and using them. Would you mind exchanging them by private message. Sorry to inconvenience you like this. 😊

Hi Andrea

thanks for the info: one more query though, is the cabin price per person or for the room?

What you've said sounds a lot cheaper than the info available online. snip snip.

Thanks Mell! I forgot about posting numbers...my apologies. I sent them privately to Graham prior, so its all good. To answer your question Graham, yes the price is per person. Like I said before...IF you are looking for entertainment or perhaps the 'experience', then you might be able to tolerate the salon seats....I would think after a hot sweaty ride on a motorcycle, you might want to upgrade! Have a lovely trip. The Baja Sur is my absolute favorite place in the world... Reply to this
