Need advice on what you think best mode of transport would be with not a huge budget-around 200-250 pounds per week (roughly $400-450 US$)
but that has to include transport, accomodation, food etc
I know we dont have long but this is all we have to work with so really need any advice/help/suggestions you may have !!
Thanks
Reply to this You can rent a car between US$25-35/day, if you stay in cheap motels, like motel 6, thats about US#40-50/night. Gas is way cheaper here than in the UK also.
In my opinion, traveling by bus is awful, there are alot of homeless people on them & they're sooo slow. I would rent a car, then you can travel at your leisure, plus you'll get to see so much more. If you cant afford a car the whole time, then try riding the bus between some destinations and renting a car for others.
To save on food, you should buy food at the grocery stores. It will last you so much longer, and is healthier anyways.
Have a good trip!!

We were looking at some internal flights too and think this may work out a bit cheaper to get across the larger parts of the country that we are not too bothered about missing ( although we would like to see it al-our time frame does not allow it)
Looking at our sugested route, which parts would you recommend gettnig a flight or a bus and which do you think driving would be the best option?
We have checked out car rental prices for the whole 6 weeks and our budget wont allow for it so we would probably rent for one 2 week period.
Any suggestions?
Reply to this For internal flights, I would say fly either from Nashville to New York, or skip New Orleans(unless you go during an event its not that great) and fly from Houston to Nashville. Taking a bus from the Grand Canyon to Texas wouldnt be that bad. It's just a straight, very long road in the desert.
Your stops are good choices, you'll get to meet all kinds of people with all different accents
