Rajasthan protest

Protests in India. Is anybody in Rajasthan or Delhi? What do you see around you? Would you consider it unsafe and/or impractical to travel there at the moment?

Anyone have more details of protests in Rajasthan and Delhi? I heard on the BBC that there were protests in Delhi and that road and rail access betwen Jaipur and Agra has also been affected.

Brian.

i just got back from rajasthan last night & was last in agra on the 28th of may... i'm not going to suggest you abandon all common sense & travel this region, however i felt very safe when i was there and would do it again in a heart beat. i don't think i would go without my driver Sonu though because he had contacts all over the place & keept completely up to date on the situation & diverted our route as necessary to stay away from the violence.

send me a private message if you'd like me to give you his contact deets, (or find a driver of your own chosing) ... he's good people, i highly recommend sonu & would trust him with my life any day.

have a safe journey,

I'm in Rajasthan. We've been traveling freely, no problems, around the south/west/north. We are in Pushkar trying to get to Agra but neither the buses nor trains will go there because of the protests. So, instead we will have to go to Dehli, and then down to Agra. Nothing unsafe, just a nusaince really. I haven't seen any of the protests and you wouldn't know it was even an issue if it wasn't in the newspapers. It is completely safe. Reply to this
