Otro dia largo. Me he levantado pronto para el tour de las Islas Ballestas, que salia a las 7. De alli al puerto de Paracas y en barco planeadora a ver el famoso Candelabro que algunos indios picaron en la ladera del desierto, y de ahi a las islas Ballestas. Aqui hay muchos leones marinos y algunos pinguinos de Humbolt, y miles de gaviotas y cormoranes, que depositan metros de guano. Las islas se componen en gran parte de mierda, y huele un poco en consonancia con ello. En el puerto de Paracas he posado junto al pelícano Jose y luego taxi para Pisco. De ahi 75 km de desierto hasta Ica, con poca agua y sin paradas por no tener ningun sitio de sombra donde parar. En Ica me he desviado al oasis de la Huacachina, aqui he decidido hacer camping (ya era hora de utilizar la tienda) por unos 5 dolares en un hostal. Despues de montar la tienda me he subido a una de la dunas mas altas de la zona con un par de suizos que estan acampados aqui, y he bajado haciendo Sandboarding, que es una variante de Snowboard en duna de arena. Mi tabla la he alquilado por 4 dolares y era muy muy cutre, asi que he hecho lo que he podido. De todas maneras mucho mas facil que el snowboard normal, porque en la arena va mas despacio y no acelera rapido (he bajado un cacho de duna en perpendicular y no iba tan rapido...). Puede que no sea la variante mas autentica de snowboard, pero queda muy molon. Para evitar tener arena en ojos y orejas me he puesto mi equipacion para tormenta de arena.

Another long day. I got up early for the Ballestas Islands tour, which started at 7. From there to the port of Paracas and watch the famous chandelier that some Indian dig on the side of the desert hill, and later to the Ballestas Islands. Here there are many sea lions and some Humbolt penguins and thousands of gulls and cormorants, which deposit meters of guano. The islands are composed largely of shit, and smells accordingly. In the port of Paracas I was aside Jose the pelican and then taxi to Pisco. After that 75 km of desert to Ica, with little water and no stops as there was not any shade to stop site. In Ica I have gone to the oasis of Huacachina, I have decided to camp here (it was time to use the tent) for about 5 dollars at a hostel. After pitching the tent I have climbed one of the highest dunes in the area with a couple of Swiss who are also camped here, and I dis some Sandboarding, which is a variant of Snowboarding on a sand dune. I have rented my table for 4 dollars and was very very dodgy, so I did what I could. Anyway it is much easier than normal snowboard, because the sand slows you down and will not accelerate too fast ( I dropped a part of the hill straight down, and it was not going so fast ...) . It may not be the most authentic snowboarding variant, but it is very cool. To avoid having sand in eyes and ears I have used my equipacion for sandstorm.
