The boat had a BAD leak at a seal on the driveshaft. Here the captain is furiously bailing. I timed him ... he was bailing one 4-gallon bucket of water out of that boat every 45 seconds!!

The Yavari in Puno harbor. This ship was built in the UK and brought to Lake Titicaca in 1300 or so individual pieces. These were transported to Titicac by mule from the Pacific coast port of Arica (took 6 years!!). It sailed Titicaca for about 100 years before going out of service. There is an attempt under way to get it back in service.

Ceal bought a Charonga at a street market in Cuzco. On our flight back to the US, baggage shifting in an overhead bin broke the neck away from the soundbox. Bummer!!
