Dear family and friends,
Joel and I just arrived back from a 2 day adventure on Lake Titicaca. At 3800 m, it is the highest lake in the world. We started off in the Uros islands. These islands are floating and are manmade out of reeds. Everything on the islands is made of reeds from the houses, to the boats to the mattresses.
We then took a 3 hour long boat ride to Amantouti island (sp ?) where we lived with hosts families. The families cooked for us and dressed us up in typical peruvian attire. Then, all dressed up we went out to a local dance where there was a live band. Today we visited another island, Taquilli island. We didnĀ“t drink tequilla there though, but some of us had explosive tea.
Tomororow we are off to La Paz, Bolivia.
