Yes, we went out with chloes knife and, being as sneaky as possible in a public park, I cut twigs off bushes and chloe stuffed them quickly into a plastic bag. On the way through the lobby of the hotel, i snatched a little basket of ornamental ish. then we went upstairs and stuffed it all into the sides of an upsidedown trashcan. our tree! needing alittle more, chloe made a star out of leftover champange bottle foil, and i went out and got popcorn which she strung.

When we were in Vilcabamba I got one of the artisanos to make this necklace. its in the shape of a date (the kind you eat), and has (L) in silver where the heart of the date would be. it doesnt really make sense to anyone but us, but its nice.

Bravo!
Antone! Your Mom just sent me your blog. It's awesome. I lived in Bolivia and then Peru about a 100 years ago - actually in 1979 - 80. In Peru I lived in Cusco and helped form a theatre and puppet group made up of Argentians, Peruvians, a Dutch woman, and myself. We performed on the streets and in orphanages. The little kids all in their school uniforms had never even seen a play! It was incredible to enjoy their delight and laughter. You look so much like your Dad to me, and your girlfriend is beautiful! I love her new necklace - and what a pretty neck! Thanks so much for sharing these photos - a real man on a cross - wow! I will continue to follow your antics - I mean - travels. much love to you and congrats on being an obviously wonderful human being. your Mom's old friend, Cynthia
