Lima, Miraflores
this is first photo taken with my new toy (hope it will last...)Karolina, my travelling companion, took a flight back home on Monday 23rd July.
It is the end of her journey, end of her holidays.
I will truly miss her....................................
We spent the last three days in Lima, staying in a hostel in Miraflores. Far away from central Lima but much much safer.
Again (i don´t know whether we have been so lucky or whether people in Sth America have fiestas that often) we happened to be there on a day when there was a celebration, pre- independence day that will be held on 28 and 29 this month.
We watched a great parade on the streets of Miraflores, in the evening wonderful fireworks.
One day, with some people from the hostel, we went out to a recommended seafood restauant to try a Peruvian speciality: ceviche - raw, marinated fish/sea food in lime juice and onion. it may not sound appealing but it's yummie. my taste buds agreed very much and will be asking for more...
From now on I´ll be travelling solo (Anita - don´t translate this to mum and dad)
On Wed 25th I´m heading to Ica, sand dunes again.
