We have finally managed to go on the Inca Trail, three months after booking it, and can tell you a few things.
1. Its not very difficult
2. noone should be able to cook food that good in a tent
3. the ruins are, indeed, breathtaking
4. gringo toilets are disgusting
our group was fantastic, our guides were more than competent, and (unlike in Bolivia) we never had to sit for hours waiting for our stuff to turn up. Instead of mules, we had dauntless local fellas charging around at high speed carrying our stuff. When we got to the ruins, however, we were amazed to see a pair of American tourists (who´d got there by train) complaining bitterly about a flight of about 10 steps.
Makes you think, it really does.
not much more to say really, theres so little information on Macchu Piccu other than mere speculation i wont bother to try and sum it up. Rest assured, however, this one probably isnt an alien base either. i´ll let the pictures
MACCHU PICCU IN ALL ITS MAJESTY
the view from the sun gate was, as you can see, awe inspiring. Lots of peoplpe were quite upset, we thought it was hilarious speak for themselves.
due to Jen´s good job news, we´re having to cut the trip short and will be back in blighty in a week. Not too much of a drag, we´re sick of ruins, broken pots and endless bus journeys anyway, and i need to get a job.
